The pressure is on the United States as it enters its final match in group play at the 2023 World Cup.

The USWNT sits at the top of the group standings on goal differential after tying the Netherlands in a rematch of the 2019 World Cup final. In the Americans’ opening match, they beat Vietnam 3-0.
Portugal, which is making its World Cup debut, lost to the Netherlands in its first game and then beat Vietnam 2-0.
The Stars and Stripes have not missed the knockout round in World Cup history and have always made it to at least the semifinals. A win or draw in their final group game would keep their hopes of a historic three-peat alive.
