The Kansas City Chiefs are coming off another successful NFL season in which Patrick Mahomes and company were able to defy the odds and push through to win a second Super Bowl title in the Andy Reid era.

With the Chiefs winning another title, there’s been a lot of talk about this team, with Mahomes leading the charge being of a legitimate dynasty in the making, which isn’t easy by any stretch in the NFL.

Even though the Chiefs are a perennial Super Bowl title contender and seem to be the team to beat every single year that Mahomes is under center, Kansas City still has a ways to go in order to be in the dynasty conversation, especially when directly compared to Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.

However, it is not beyond the realm of possibility that after the 2023 season, if this team can repeat as Super Bowl champions, the Chiefs will be a dynasty or at least well on their way to becoming one.

Mahomes addressed the dynasty talk in a conversation with Steve Mariucci and Kimmi Chex of NFL Network.

Mahomes made it clear that you cannot talk about being a dynasty until you are done.

Obviously, Mahomes isn’t going to say the Chiefs are a dynasty right now, as that would put an even bigger target on his and his teammates’ backs moving forward.

He went about the discussion the right way by saying that dynasties shouldn’t be discussed until it’s over, which is admirable, especially for a quarterback that many believe is the best in the league and the biggest threat to dethroning Brady as the greatest of all time.
