Much like the Cincinnati Bengals with superstar quarterback Joe Burrow, the Miami Dolphins got some bad news this week, with their biggest offseason addition, star cornerback Jalen Ramsey, going down with a knee injury in practice which required him to be taken off the field on a cart.
Unfortunately, unlike Burrow, who will be out a few weeks with a calf strain, Ramsey suffered a much more serious injury that immediately required surgery.
As a result of the surgery to repair a torn meniscus, Ramsey will be out until December, which is a costly blow for Miami, as the team was hoping to benefit from having the lockdown corner go up against some of the best wideouts in the NFL.
With Ramsey officially on the mend post-surgery, the veteran corner took to Twitter to thank his teammates and fans for their support during this challenging time, as he promises to come back stronger than ever.
Surgery went well 🙏🏾
To my teammates & fans, thank you for the prayers and support!! I promise I will attack this rehab and be back stronger than ever… this will just part of the greater story down the stretch! Adversity is opportunity! God is so great!
FIN5 UP! 🧡🤟🏾— Jalen Ramsey (@jalenramsey) July 28, 2023
Although Ramsey will be out for a few months to start the season, the Dolphins are still considered to be one of the best teams in the NFL heading into the 2023 season, especially on the offensive side of the football.
Miami turned a lot of heads last season, with Mike McDaniel proving to be the real deal at head coach and the team firing on all cylinders on offense with Tyreek Hill not missing a beat on his new team, and Jaylen Waddle benefiting from the attention drawn downfield by his new teammate.
Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa also took a step in the right direction last year, but health will always be a concern moving forward.
