At every trade deadline, it always seems that pitching is at a premium.
Contending teams want pieces for their starting rotation or their bullpen to try and gear up for a run down the stretch.
Rental pitching options always seem to come at a high cost, and this year, that appears to be holding true.
Starters such as Jordan Montgomery, Jack Flaherty, and Lucas Giolito are currently floating around in trade rumors as some of the best rental starting pitching options.
Eduardo Rodriguez and Michael Lorenzen are also options.
On Twitter, MLB reporter Jon Morosi noted that the market for rental starters is currently the same as it usually is, with prices for such pitchers being high.

Morosi notes that every contending ballclub is going to be interested in adding rental starters.
That is what makes the prices go higher, especially as the deadline creeps closer.
The official trade deadline is one week away and will take place on Tuesday, August 1.
The bulk of the activity typically comes in the final two days leading up to the deadline, and one could predict that this will be the case yet again, especially as it pertains to rental starting pitchers.
Teams in contention want to do everything in their power to try and put themselves in a position for a run in October.
Rental starting pitchers are a key part of that, and with several on the market, they are certainly coming in high demand.
Things are about to get interesting as the deadline approaches.
