The Las Vegas Raiders are one of several NFL teams with a difficult running back situation.
Josh Jacobs wasn’t signed to a contract extension, leaving him to play under the franchise tag.
He’s now faced with a tough decision- either to sign the franchise tag or to sit the entire season out, hoping to get a new contract for the 2024 season.
While fans aren’t sure what this means for his future, Tom Pelissero recently reported that Jacobs was seen on a flight leaving Las Vegas.

As Pelissero indicated, Jacobs will not participate in team activities, particularly when training camp begins on July 25th.
Jacobs led the league in rushing yards last season, and he will be deeply missed throughout training camp.
At least for now, his backups are Zamir White and Ameer Abdullah, a significant downgrade for the Raiders.
Jacobs was a noted participant in a recent Zoom call, which was held between some of the top running backs in the league.
This call was reported to discuss the current state of the position, notably the lack of payment when discussing contract extensions.
While there hasn’t been an actionable response to this meeting, many around the league believe something will happen soon.
Running backs like Jacobs, Saquon Barkley, Dalvin Cook, and Ezekiel Elliott have expressed their frustrations with their teams.
This controversy continues to be a growing issue, as more and more backs are cut or given a small extension.
How will Jacobs and the Raiders come to a resolution?
