The Memphis Grizzlies were dealt a major blow recently, with NBA commissioner Adam Silver officially making a ruling on what to do with superstar guard Ja Morant, who was seen for a second time flashing a gun in a video on social media.
Although no one knew what the league would do to punish Morant, who clearly didn’t learn his lesson the first time, the NBA decided to suspend the up-and-comer for the first 25 games of the 2023-24 season.
This suspension was a bit shorter than many expected, as some believed that he’d be suspended for half the season or maybe even the entire 82-game slate.
Silver and company decided to give the young superstar a slap on the wrist, but it doesn’t seem like he’s done with the party life just yet, with the following video surfacing via Ball Don’t Lie.

At first glance, this does seem like a relatively harmless video of Morant having fun at a club, but it does make one wonder whether he’s taken any discipline that has been handed down by the league seriously, as most mature professional athletes would do anything to stay off social media after what has happened.
It’ll be interesting to see what the future holds for this 23-year-old superstar, as he will have a bright future ahead in the league if he is able to stay out of trouble off the floor.
If the off-the-court incidents continue, Morant may become another tragic sports story about a player that couldn’t control himself and, as a result, saw their dreams shattered.
