When amid the NFL offseason, hearing no news about a player is usually good news.
Unfortunately, the Minnesota Vikings received some bad news about first-round pick Jordan Addison.
Addison has yet to report to his first NFL training camp and he is already in trouble.
It was reported on Thursday that Addison was cited for reckless driving after driving 140 mph in a 55 mph zone.
This was news that no one wanted to hear especially for a player that has yet to play in an NFL game.
Addison was selected in the first round due to his play on the field but also because he never was in any trouble off of it.
According to Adam Schefter, Addison released a statement apologizing for his actions.
Jordan Addison issued the following statement regarding yesterday’s event: “Yesterday morning I made a mistake and used poor judgment. I recognize and own that. I am going to learn from this and not repeat the behavior. I am truly sorry.”

Luckily, no one was hurt during this incident.
The Vikings need to make sure something like this does not happen again.
They have invested a lot in Addison and expect him and Justin Jefferson to be an elite 1-2 punch.
It will be interesting to see if any discipline comes down from the NFL.
They are known to come down hard on players who break the law.
But that is mostly on a case-by-case basis depending on the infraction.
Overall, this is a terrible way for him to start his NFL career.
Addison will need to make sure he is on his best behavior for the rest of this season.
