The Las Vegas Raiders had a tough decision to make this offseason regarding Josh Jacobs.

He was one of the best players in the NFL last season but he entered the offseason as a free agent.

The Raiders did not seem motivated to give Jacobs a long-term deal.

That is why he is set to play under the franchise tag for the upcoming season.

Even though the Raiders do not value Jacobs, his teammates understand his worth.

Davante Adams went onto the Jim Rome show to discuss his support for Jacobs.

He mentioned how the Raiders will need Jacobs if they want to make a run for the Super Bowl.

The running back market has been nonexistent this offseason.

All of the top free-agent running backs were forced to sign the franchise tag.

Jacobs, Saquon Barkley, and Tony Pollard all will be playing under the tag in 2023.

Most NFL teams are scared to give running backs long-term deals.

That is because their shelf life is so short.

Most running backs start to slow down in their fifth or sixth year.

Nevertheless, Jacobs just finished his fourth season and it was the best of his career.

He rushed for 1,653 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Also, he averaged a career-high 4.9 yards per attempt.

It will be interesting to see if Jacobs decides to hold out of training camp.

We have seen many running backs do that after being given the franchise tag.

Despite the impact running backs have on their offenses, it appears they will never be valued by their teams.
