The Baltimore Ravens are a team on the rise in the NFL once again, as the storied franchise has had a stellar offseason, with superstar quarterback Lamar Jackson signing a new lucrative long-term deal with the team securing his and its future.
Few teams in the league were able to make as many solid additions on the offensive side of the football in comparison to the Ravens, with Baltimore landing superstar wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. in NFL free agency and drafting wideout Zay Flowers out of Boston College.
Although the offense looks like it could potentially be one of the best in the league, if not the best, Baltimore still has areas to address on the defensive side of the football in order to maintain the big leads the offense might be able to put up on a weekly basis.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Ravens are bringing in former Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end Dawuane Smoot for a visit next week.
#Jaguars FA DE Dawuane Smoot is set to visit the #Ravens early next week, as Baltimore eyes possible edge help, sources say. Smoot tore his Achilles late last season, but is doing well in his rehab and prepping to get back on the field. Baltimore is a strong option.

Coming back from a torn Achilles tendon can be tricky for an athlete in any sport, as most of the time the injury ends the athlete’s career.
However, in the last few years, some players across multiple sports have not viewed a torn Achilles as a career-ending injury and have been able to bounce back.
The Ravens are open to the idea of Smoot being one of those players as he’s only 28 years old and has recorded 22.5 sacks up this point in his career and might be able to help the franchise.
