The Tom Brady era is officially over for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Moving on from a legendary quarterback is difficult for any franchise, and they’re likely to experience growing pains with somebody else.

Baker Mayfield and Kyle Trask are slated to take part in a quarterback competition, with Mayfield having a slight edge, given his career experience.

In a segment of “Speak” on FS1, Emmanuel Acho outlined his optimism for Mayfield in this offense.

Acho said, “I believe that Baker Mayfield is the human form of a defibrillator.”

Acho also said that Mayfield “can revive dead situations.”

Mayfield was the number one overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.

Throughout his career, he has encountered various obstacles, making it relatively difficult for him to succeed.

One of which was a series of head coaching changes for the Cleveland Browns, hindering his growth potential with inconsistent messaging.

While Mayfield has shown flashes at times, he hasn’t yet established himself as a solid franchise starter.

Will that change this season with the Buccaneers?

Every team in the AFC South seems to be going through massive changes, which could be a net positive for Mayfield and the Buccaneers.

Mayfield’s supporting cast is arguably the best of his career.

He’ll have both Mike Evans and Chris Godwin to throw to, two of the best receivers in the league.

Plus, the Buccaneers have solid offensive and defensive lines, setting Mayfield up for success.

With all of this in mind, Mayfield should have every advantage needed to succeed this season, if he’s up to the task.
