For years, NBA fans have waited to watch LeBron James’ oldest son, Bronny, take on the college basketball scene and follow in his old man’s footsteps in the league after.

Bronny’s college commitment was a talking point for months until he finally announced he had committed to play for the USC Trojans.

However, as many offers as he had throughout the course of the years, it doesn’t seem like he’ll have a big role right out of the gate.

According to CBS Sports college hoops analyst Jon Rothstein, Bronny could be coming off the bench in his first — and potentially only — year in college.

Per Rothstein, the Trojans will most likely roll with Isaiah Collier, Boogie Ellis, Kobe Johnson, DJ Rodman, and Joshua Morgan in the starting five, meaning Bronny would play a lesser role.

While this could be a bit of a bummer for the fans and those waiting to see what he can do, it wouldn’t be shocking to see him being drafted high anyways.

Multiple players have been taken high in the draft despite not being starters, including the likes of Russell Westbrook, who was Darren Collison’s backup at UCLA.

Notably, some believe there’s no way that Bronny would’ve committed to USC unless he was promised a starting job, and that would make sense.

Regardless, with LeBron making it loud and clear that he wants to play with Bronny for at least one season, there’s simply no reason to believe any team won’t take him to get a chance to sign his old man as well.
