The Toronto Blue Jays will hold top starter Kevin Gausman out for another series as he deals with left side discomfort, the team announced Sunday.

After an off-day Monday, starting pitchers Alek Manoah, Jose Berrios and Chris Bassitt will go in that order for a three-game series against the San Diego Padres at Rogers Centre.

Gausman was a late scratch Saturday against the Arizona Diamondbacks because of the discomfort, with Bassitt taking his place.

The next time the Blue Jays will need a fifth starter will be this coming Saturday in Seattle against the Mariners.

Gausman was selected for the All-Star Game last week, but he opted not to go to Seattle. He is 7-5 with a 3.03 ERA this season
