Chelsea are offloading several players this transfer window as they seek to rebuild their team for the upcoming season. The Blues endured a frustrating season as they finished 12th in the Premier League with a total points tally of 44.
Despite spending left, right, and centre on signing a host of talented players, Chelsea failed to make a mark in the 2022/2023 season. With the new season edging closer, Chelsea is restructuring its entire squad and their focus is on a major squad overhaul.
As part of their major squad overhaul, several key Chelsea players such as Kai Havertz, Mason Mount and Mateo Kovacic have already left the club. The latest player poised to leave the Premier League club is Marc Cucurella.
The Spaniard was acquired by the Blues from Brighton & Hove Albion last summer for a fee of €65.3 million. Despite managing to make 21 league starts during the season, the Spaniard has failed to live up to Chelsea’s expectations.
The 24-year-old has struggled to make an impact with Chelsea and now reports are emerging that Cucurella could be shown the door.
Newcastle United and Atletico Madrid are monitoring the situation closely however now Juventus have expressed their interest in signing the player.
In a bid to strengthen their defence, Juventus are proactively looking to sign reinforcements and Cucurella is on their radar. The Serie A giants will be keen to seal a move however they will face stiff competition from Atletico Madrid and Newcastle United who are also keen on plotting a move.
It will be interesting to see whether Curcurella will secure a move to another club or opt to stay at Chelsea for another opportunity to showcase his abilities.
