A few years back, the Chicago Bulls pulled out all the stops in an effort to put together a legitimate title contender for the first time since the Derrick Rose era in the Windy City.
The team was able to bring in a lot of notable players like DeMar DeRozan, Zach LaVine, Alex Caruso, Nikola Vucevic, and Lonzo Ball.
The combination of all these players was thought to be lethal and a potential powerhouse in the Eastern Conference for many years to come.
Unfortunately, outside of one solid season, Chicago’s new-look squad has been a disappointment due to inconsistent play and injuries.
Perhaps the saddest part of the Bulls falling apart the last few years has been Ball’s inability to get back on the floor as one of the more promising young point guards in the league.
Ball has been plagued by injuries his entire career thus far, and now next season has ended for him already, with the Bulls trying to recoup the loss financially, which they have done, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.
The NBA has granted the Bulls a $10.2 million Disabled Player Exception for the season-ending loss of Lonzo Ball, sources say. https://t.co/6pJ3Lc78vY

Although the Bulls were able to get an exception worth over $10 million with Ball set to miss next season, the real question moving forward is whether he’ll ever play another game in the NBA.
As of right now, all signs point to Ball’s once-promising basketball career being over, with his injury problems seemingly being too much to overcome and too much of a risk for another team to take on, which is unfortunate for the former No. 2 overall pick of the Los Angeles Lakers.
