Some people wondered what the Golden State Warriors were doing when they shipped out Jordan Poole, one of their most important and promising young players, for Chris Paul just days ago.
While Paul is a sure-fire future Hall-of-Famer, he is also 38 years of age, and he will make a Warriors team that already has an aging core even older.
But Paul looked to give Warriors fans something to look forward to when he posted a video message on social media.
He’s excited

With Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green racking up more and more miles on their respective odometers, it seems like Golden State should be getting younger, not older.
They seemed to have a nice young cast of complementary players when they won the NBA championship in 2022, but in recent months, they have dismantled that cast.
Poole is now with the Washington Wizards, while big man James Wiseman was traded to the Detroit Pistons in February.
Forward Jonathan Kuminga and guard Moses Moody are still around, but there are questions about just how much they will be able to contribute moving forward.
Paul is still a very capable floor general and distributor, but his offensive game has been in major decline over the past year and change.
In the 2020-21 season, he averaged 16.4 points a game on 49.9 percent overall shooting and 39.5 percent from 3-point range, but those numbers fell to 13.9 points per contest on 44.0 percent overall shooting and 37.5 percent from downtown this past season.
He will be coming off the bench for the Warriors, which will be a major adjustment, and there are questions about whether he can make his ball-pounding style of play fit in with their fast-breaking, fast-moving offense.
