With the Portland Trail Blazers heading into a youth movement with rookie guard Scoot Henderson leading the way, the clock is ticking on when and where the struggling franchise will trade superstar guard Damian Lillard.

Although Lillard has made it abundantly clear that he only wants to play for the Miami Heat to join forces with Bam Adebayo and Jimmy Butler, the Blazers’ brass have been reluctant to send him there, with the trade package coming back to Portland not being what they want for the perennial All-Star.

With the Blazers doing their due diligence to find the right trade package for Lillard, the veteran guard has become noticeably frustrated with the process and the backlash he’s received for finally asking the team that drafted him to trade him.

This has led to some cryptic tweets on Lillard’s Twitter account, which Chris Broussard of Fox Sports criticized due to the vague nature of these tweets, via First Things First.

Cryptic tweets and vague messages being sent out on social media have become all too common for professional athletes, as they tend to try to speak their minds about their situation but won’t just come out and say exactly what they’re thinking or feeling.

Broussard is right regarding these vague messages and how it confuses the situation rather than helping it, as it is almost a cry for attention rather than trying to set the record straight or get a message across.

As for the trade situation, there’s no telling where Lillard will land at this point, as the situation has seemingly gotten ugly with no timetable to be resolved.
