The New York Jets went to great lengths to get a new star quarterback, and they managed to get one of the best to ever do it.

Even so, some question whether they’re getting the best version of Aaron Rodgers, as he wasn’t exactly an MVP candidate last season, and he might be entering the backend of his prime.

However, former NFL star LeSean McCoy believes the Jets are — in fact — getting the best version of Rodgers, as he’s way more committed and involved with the team than he was later in his tenure with the Green Bay Packers.

McCoy talked about how Rodgers is now taking part in OTAs and minicamps after not doing that in Green Bay, and how he’s also hanging out with some of his teammates off the field.

He believes that the fact that they’re developing chemistry and actually like each other could pay huge dividends when they’re on the field, adding that sometimes things can get redundant and players need to shake things up a little to be back to their best version.

McCoy also believes that Rodgers is at his best when the team depends on him, and that wasn’t the case last season in Green Bay, as Matt LaFleur put more pressure on the running game and the young wide receivers.

Whatever the case, the Jets know their Super Bowl window could close as fast as it opened, and all players seem to be on board with this championship-or-bust mindset they’ve adopted since acquiring the multi-time MVP.
