Tennessee Titans reserve running back Hassan Haskins and his girlfriend Makiah Green were arrested and charged with aggravated assault by strangulation following a pair of domestic disturbances this month, per The Tennessean, part of the USA TODAY Sports Network. Green also faces charges of assault with a deadly weapon and felony vandalism, according to affidavits obtained by The Tennessean.

The court documents state Haskins and Green got into an argument June 22. Green accused Haskins of strangling her twice, once for 10-15 seconds, and provided police with photos of bruising to her right arm and cheek, red marks on the front of her neck and a scratch on the side of her neck.

In a separate argument on Thursday, according to affidavits, Haskins accused Green of strangling him, as well as ripping a chain off his neck, and breaking his phone and PlayStation 5. Haskins also provided police with videos of Green hitting at him with a broom.

Haskins, 23, and Green, 20, were booked into jail around 6 a.m. Thursday and were released around 5 p.m. that day. Green’s bail was set at $7,500, with Haskins’ at $10,000. Both will see a judge on July 10.

The Titans released a statement Friday night that read, “We are aware the situation and gathering additional information.”

Haskins appeared in 15 games for the Titans last season, including one start. He had 25 carries and 93 rushing yards in 2022. He also returned 19 kickoffs for 414 return yards.

According to the affidavit, there was a point in the argument on Thursday when Green grabbed a knife to slash the tires on Haskins’ car, but she stopped after she heard Haskins cock a gun and say, “I wish you would.”

Green stated that on June 22 Haskins pushed her to the floor of their closet. She responded by fighting and kicking back, the affidavit states, which led to Haskins tossing Green onto the bed and strangling her. Green said after Haskins released her she slapped him in the face and he slapped her back. Shortly thereafter, Green accused Haskins of throwing her to the ground and strangling her for a second time.

The Davidson County prosecutor dealing with the case concluded in the affidavit that there is probable cause to believe Haskins did unlawfully strangle Green, and Green did unlawfully damage Haskins’ property, place her hands around his neck and hit him with a broom.

The Titans selected Haskins in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL draft out of Michigan. He recorded 2,324 rushing yards and 30 rushing TDs with the Wolverines.
