On Wednesday night, the New York Yankees experienced a special moment when right-hander Domingo German completed the 24th perfect game in Major League Baseball history.

The Yankees defeated the Oakland Athletics by a final score of 11-0.

All around the baseball world, fans have been celebrating German’s epic accomplishment and the strong performance he put together against the A’s.

However, there is one person in particular who thinks this performance should have an asterisk next to it because it came against the A’s.

On Twitter, famous horror author Stephen King jokingly expressed his opinion on the matter.

This may ultimately rub some Yankees fans the wrong way, as German certainly pitched a gem against the A’s last night.

However, King’s dry sense of humor may ultimately prevail here.

It’s certainly an interesting take, but it’s also a humorous jab at the A’s and what they have become over the past several years.

The A’s are a small-market team that has been unable to put together a talented roster after having traded away key stars such as Matt Chapman, Chris Bassitt, Matt Olson, and Sean Murphy in recent years.

And so, some will ultimately agree with King that this perfect game should come with an asterisk next to it, due to the fact that Oakland doesn’t have much on its roster.

It will obviously not be ruled as such, and will remain a legitimate perfect game.

But King’s take here will make some fans laugh, while others consider it an ill-advised take on the situation.
