The Los Angeles Angels experienced an unforgettable night on Tuesday as their two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani led them to a 4-2 win over the Chicago White Sox.

Ohtani was the main story for several reasons.

He recorded 10 strikeouts as a pitcher and hit two home runs in his three at-bats.

It was also the first time in his career that he had hit two home runs in a game he started.

Ohtani earned his seventh win of the season as the Halos topped the White Sox.

After such an impressive night, Ohtani ranks high in several elite categories.

On Twitter, StatMuse posted some of Ohtani’s numbers and where he ranks in those categories.

As a hitter, Ohtani is leading all of baseball in home runs, RBI, extra-base hits, slugging percentage, and OPS.

As a pitcher, Ohtani ranks at the top in all of baseball in hits allowed per nine innings pitched.

He is also first in the American League in strikeouts per nine innings.

Ohtani ranks second in the AL with a strikeout total of 128, 7th in the AL with a 1.04 WHIP, and ninth in the AL with an ERA of 3.02.

As of now, this makes him look like the clear choice to win the AL MVP, an honor he received after hitting 46 home runs in 2021.

Ohtani finished second in the running last season behind New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge.

This year, he appears to be clear favorite to capture the award yet again as he continues his torrid pace.
