When the Los Angeles Angels had back-to-back-to-back homers in a 13-run third inning, it was already clear that they were brushing Friday’s loss right off their shoulders.
Then the Angels scored 10 more over the next four innings to break a franchise record for a score akin to something you may find in an NFL game. Unfortunately, their shot at setting the record for largest shutout victory in modern MLB history was broken by a solo homer from Brenton Doyle — the 24-run lead, however, might be a worthy consolation prize.
While we’re used to seeing heroics from franchise superstars Shohei Ohtani and Mike Trout, the joint effort from the entire squad is making for a night Angels fans won’t soon forget.
Here are some of the baseball world’s reactions to the Angels blowout of the Rockies.
