The San Antonio Spurs have been among the worst teams in the NBA over the last few years without much hope of getting back to form as a legitimate title contender under legendary head coach Gregg Popovich.

That may change in the near future, with the Spurs landing one of the best prospects in league history on Thursday night in Victor Wembanyama, who went to San Antonio with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft.

With Wembanyama officially headed to San Antonio to start his NBA career, the question is what the team can expect from him during his rookie campaign.

Chris Broussard of Fox Sports chimed in on the discussion, as he believes it will be a big debut for the French superstar in a Spurs uniform during the 2023-24 NBA season via First Things First.

Although those are arguably All-Star-caliber numbers for Wembanyama, it is not beyond the realm of possibility that he can make it happen next season as he becomes the new face of the franchise in San Antonio.

If Wembanyama is able to put up those stats regularly, it’ll be interesting to see whether the Spurs are a threat in the Western Conference and how long it may take for the team to be a legitimate force to be reckoned with in the league.

The next order of business for the Spurs brass will be building around their new superstar in an effort to get back to the franchise’s winning ways from the Tim Duncan era.
