The 2023 NBA Draft is just hours away as of this writing, and it is a day where hopes and dreams of greatness are in the air for numerous draftees, their teams and their fans.

It is also an inspiring day on a human level, as players strike financial gold and are able to use that good fortune to bless and empower their friends and families.

The NBA took to its official Twitter account to remind people of the 2003 draft class, which is considered one of the best draft classes in history.

That class, of course, was headlined by LeBron James, who came straight out of St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in Akron, Ohio and eventually became one of the greatest players in basketball history.

He grew up being raised by a low-income single mother, and many cite his origin story as one of the better ones in the history of all sports.

Carmelo Anthony of Syracuse University was the No. 3 pick, and he had an impressive career of his own as one of the better scorers of his era.

He recently retired and is currently 11th on the NBA’s all-time list of career points.

Chris Bosh, the No. 4 pick in 2003, had a stellar career as one of the league’s better power forwards, averaging 19.2 points and 8.5 rebounds a game for his career.

Unfortunately, his career was cut short after 13 seasons due to a blood clot.

Dwyane Wade, the No. 5 pick, ended up being considered the third-greatest shooting guard ever behind only Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant.

Of course, James, Wade, and Bosh famously teamed up on the Miami Heat for four seasons, reaching the NBA Finals each year and winning back-to-back championships.
