Pizza lovers will soon be able to order Domino’s without providing an address through the company’s new Pinpoint Delivery program.
The new program allows customers to get their food delivered by dropping a pin on a map that acts as their location. The food will be delivered to their pin, which can be anywhere as opposed to having to be at a home or building that has a designated address.
Domino’s announced the new program in a press release Tuesday, stating that an advantage of the program is its ability to have food delivered to more places, including outdoor recreational areas like beaches, parks, and sport fields.
Christopher Thomas-Moore, Domino’s senior vice president and chief digital officer, said in the released that the company is the first U.S. “quick-service” restaurant brand to offer delivery using a pin location and not an address.
“We’re always striving to make customers’ experiences even better and more convenient, and Domino’s Pinpoint Delivery does exactly that,” Thomas-Moore said in the release.

The program is available for use by customers who place orders on the Domino’s mobile app. There will be an option to select Pinpoint Delivery while placing orders in the app and after selecting it, customers will drop a pizza pin where they want to receive the order. All payments have to be prepaid with a debit, credit, or gift card.
Customers will still be able to track their delivery order, see their delivery driver’s location, receive an estimated time of arrival, and receive texts about the status of their order. When the delivery person is at the designated pin location, the customer will can activate a “visual signal” on their phone consisting of a full screen Domino’s logo that the customer can hold up to help the delivery driver find them.
Additionally, customers will provide a description of themselves in the app to help the delivery person identify them. After the driver arrives, the customer has four minutes to meet the delivery person and pick up their order.
“Delivery innovation is at the core of who we are, so we’re thrilled to give customers a new delivery option by allowing them to receive their order nearly anywhere, with the drop of a pin,” Thomas-Moore said in the statement.
