Reports: Wizards trading Bradley Beal to Sun in blockbuster deal

The Washington Wizards are trading All-Star guard Bradley Beal to the Phoenix Suns, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Beal needed to waive his no-trade clause for the deal to occur. His agent, Mark Bartelstein, told Wojnarowski the trade was “an extremely complicated process” that involved Wizards owner Ted Leonsis and president Michael Winger.

Wojnarowski further reported that the Suns will send guards Chris Paul and Landry Shamet, multiple second-round picks, and pick swaps to the Wizards. Phoenix does not have a first round pick available to trade.

Beal averaged 23.2 points on a career-best 50.6 per-cent shooting from the field last season as the Wizards missed the playoffs for the fourth time in five years. He played only 50 games as Beal battled a few injuries.

Beal averaged more than 30 points in back-to-back seasons from 2019-21.
