The Washington Wizards are reportedly shopping Bradley Beal in the trade market only a year after giving him a very lucrative contract.
After many years of trying to build a competitive team around Beal, they could be entering a rebuilding process.
One of the players that was expected to help the guard, Kristaps Porzingis, has been linked with the Portland Trail Blazers.
According to Evan Massey of NBA Analysis Network, via NBA Central, the Blazers and Wizards discussed a swap involving Porzingis and the No. 3 overall pick.

This may sound like a good idea to some within the Trail Blazers organization, but after seeing how badly Porzingis fared alongside Luka Doncic, the fit with Damian Lillard is questionable.
He did have a career-high 23.2 points per game last season, while also getting 8.4 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 65 games.
The Blazers could view Porzingis as someone who could move the needle for them.
After starting strong with the New York Knicks, improving his numbers every season (14.3 PPG in 2015-16, 18.1 PPG in 2016-17, and 22.7 PPG in 2017-18), injuries started taking a toll on his career.
He missed the entire 2018-19 season with an ACL injury.
He is still a solid player and only 27 years old, but his injury history should be a concern.
Portland should look for more options before settling on Porzingis.
