The Brooklyn Nets failed to make the most of their stars in the past couple of years, but it’s not entirely their fault.
Kevin Durant struggled with injuries, Kyrie Irving was often unavailable, and James Harden may have never actually bought into their project.
Then, they got Ben Simmons to try and give them a breath of fresh air after Harden left, all while bringing his career back from the ground, but that didn’t happen.
Simmons didn’t play in his first season in Brooklyn and then barely made an impact in his second season, struggling with a back injury that kept him on the shelf for the better part of the campaign.

That’s why fans aren’t so hyped to see him back in the gym and in great physical shape, as they’ve been fooled by these pictures and clips way too many times already.
We not doing this again lol

Love how any nba player with a bicep pump in the off-season automatically correlates to being “in the lab” 💀

It seems like the videos of Simmons working out, shooting threes, and looking jacked have become a tradition of the NBA offseason, and fans simply don’t want to get their hopes up with the former No. 1 pick again.
Of course, Simmons is still young, and he’s shown the potential to be a perennial Defensive Player of the Year candidate, not to mention he’s one of the finest playmakers in the league when he’s at his best.
But some question his feel for the game and he has yet to prove that he can stay on the floor, so people won’t believe it until they actually see it.
