Right now, pro sports in South Florida is at a peak.

The Miami Heat are in the NBA Finals, the NHL’s Florida Panthers are playing for the Stanley Cup, and the Miami Dolphins are starting to look like a legitimate Super Bowl contender.

Now, another local team, Inter Miami of Major League Soccer, will be getting a big boost as huge international soccer star Lionel Messi will be suiting up for them.

Some Dolphins players were feeling the excitement, as they messed around with a soccer ball.

There is also plenty of excitement surrounding the Dolphins after a season in which they made the playoffs for just the third time in the last 20 years.

They traded for superstar wide receiver Tyreek Hill last offseason, and he had a career year in his new surroundings, as he went for 1,710 yards in 2022.

Meanwhile, fellow wideout Jaylen Waddle, who just completed his second pro season, put up 1,356 yards and eight touchdowns, and together, the two had Miami looking downright scary at times on offense.

For 2023, the team has added veteran star cornerback Jalen Ramsey, who will combine with Xavien Howard to give the Dolphins arguably the league’s best duo at that position.

Even better, they could be about to add four-time Pro Bowl running back Dalvin Cook, who was just released by the Minnesota Vikings.

How far they go this fall and winter will all depend on the continued growth of quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and whether he’s able to avoid the concussions that plagued him last season.
