Collagen Peptides recalled over foreign material contamination


Vital Proteins of Franklin, IL, is recalling nearly 60,000 canisters of their brand of Collagen Peptides because of potential foreign material contamination, specifically pieces of a broken plastic lid.

According to the recall posted by the FDA, the recall was initiated on April 21, 2023, and is ongoing.

The products were distributed to retail locations in Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Wisconsin, Connecticut, Delaware, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Florida and Puerto Rico. The product was also sold online by a consignee.

  • Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides
  • retail 24oz plastic canister
  • UPC 8 57273 00866 6
  • 6 retail units per wholesale case

Consumers who purchased the recalled product should immediately dispose of it and not consume it.
