The Los Angeles Lakers have always had nothing but the most prominent names in the industry on their rosters.
And with the way this season is ending and how poorly D’Angelo Russell has played in the Western Conference Finals, Brian Windhorst of ESPN claims there’s a real possibility they go after Kyrie Irving in the offseason.
Windhorst claims that there could be mutual interest between both parties, and he’s repeatedly stated that Irving to Los Angeles is a real possibility for many reasons.

For starters, Irving is looking to sign a max contract, which the Dallas Mavericks are unlikely to give him.
Moreover, he tried to force his way out to the Lakers when he was still playing for the Brooklyn Nets, but team owner Joe Tsai wasn’t going to do him any favors.
Irving and LeBron James have a complicated history together, but they’ve made it more than clear that they’ve buried the hatchet and are more than willing to team up again, up to the point where James publicly stated that his team didn’t get Irving before the NBA trade deadline.
The Lakers could do a lot better than Russell, who hasn’t been able to keep up that level from his days with the Nets.
And Irving could propel them to championship contention again before their championship window closes with an aging LeBron and an often-injured Anthony Davis.
Money could be complicated, but LeBron and the Lakers rarely don’t get what they want.
