The Dallas Cowboys entered the 2023 NFL Draft with many needs.

They selected Kansas State running back Deuce Vaughn in the sixth round.

He was one of the best players in college football throughout his career, but his size is what scared many NFL teams away.

Vaughn stands at 5’5″ and he was the shortest player measured at the NFL Combine since 2002.

At the NFL Rookie Premiere, Vaughn was able to get the first look at his Cowboys jersey.

Courtesy of NFL on ESPN, his reaction to seeing his jersey made him smile.

The Cowboys took a chance on him because of his college production.

He can run between the tackles and is a very good receiver.

Vaughn should slot in as the Cowboys RB2 behind Tony Pollard for the upcoming season.

His size was not an issue for him in college, and it should not be an issue in the NFL.

Last season at Kansas State, Vaughn rushed for 1,558 yards and nine touchdowns.

He also caught 42 passes for 378 yards and three touchdowns.

In three college seasons, he rushed for over 3,600 yards and scored 43 touchdowns.

Vaughn was the feel-good story of the draft as his father, Chris Vaughn, is a scout for the Cowboys.

The Cowboys allowed Chris to call Deuce letting him know he was being drafted.

Many people compare Vaughn to former Kansas State running back Darren Sproles.

They are both short in stature but also electrifying playmakers.

It is exciting to think about what Vaughn can turn into as an NFL player.
