Don’t look now, but the St. Louis Cardinals are starting to get hot.
After a miserable 10-24 start to the season, the team has gone 7-1 in their last eight games and are now on a four-game winning streak.
Despite their record still sitting at an unfortunate 17-25, the team has gained some ground in both the NL Central and NL Wild Card races.
Their win over the Milwaukee Brewers brought them to within 6.5 games of first place and 3.5 games of the final Wild Card spot.
After the game, shortstop Tommy Edman spoke to the media and discussed the team’s recent improvements and what has been working for them since the turnaround.
Edman on the #STLCards hitting their stride: “We’ve got so much talent on this team. It was just a matter of time before we really put things together, and you’re kind of starting to see that.”@TheCatOnBallyTV pic.twitter.com/lc0psgDZwA

Edman was first asked about what it meant for the Cards to score 18 runs off the Brewers in the series opener.
The star shortstop said that it was a perfect way for the Cardinals to start off their series against their NL Central rivals and expressed hope that the team can keep their momentum from their previous road trip, which included a three-game sweep of the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park.
Edman went on to praise Jack Flaherty for his seven-inning masterpiece.
Finally, Edman talked about what he’s seeing from his perspective on how the Cardinals are playing and stated that the team always had the confidence that they would turn things around, thanks to the talent on the roster.
The Cardinals shortstop believes that things are starting to come together for the defending NL Central champions and that the team is playing with much more confidence.
