The Atlanta Falcons are currently in a transition period with the post-Matt Ryan era well underway with Desmond Ridder under center and the team potentially building round rookie running back Bijan Robinson and star tight end Kyle Pitts moving forward.
Although the rebuilding process has begun in Atlanta, the AFC South division is up for grabs, meaning the playoffs aren’t out of the question for the Falcons if they can put together a competitive roster for the 2023 NFL season.
At this point, there’s no telling what the Falcons will look like in the 2023 campaign despite the young talent on display in Atlanta.
On Sunday, the team made another move ahead of training camp, bringing in veteran linebacker Andre Smith, according to Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston.

Smith is not a player that is going to move the needle much for the Falcons, as he is likely another body added to the roster for training camp, which is the kind of move that will happen a lot in the coming weeks.
With the Falcons being somewhat of a wildcard moving forward and no telling what this team can do in 2023, players like Smith can’t be ruled out in terms of making an impression in training camp and making the roster as a result.
It’ll be interesting to see how things pan out for the Falcons, with so much attention in the AFC South division geared toward the Carolina Panthers and New Orleans Saints due to the offseason moves they’ve made to improve their rosters moving forward.
