Last year, the Denver Broncos made a major move to address the quarterback position, with the storied NFL franchise making a blockbuster trade with the Seattle Seahawks to bring in superstar Russell Wilson.

Unfortunately, the move didn’t result in instant success for the Broncos, as Wilson didn’t look like the same superstar of old and made many wonder if the team had made the right move.

With Wilson being a significant question mark moving forward, the Broncos made a few moves in the NFL offseason in order to get some insurance behind their superstar quarterback.

The most significant move was quickly signing former Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Jarrett Stidham once free agency began, and now the team has made another move, even though it is a bit unorthodox, with the team inking former XFL quarterback Ben DiNucci to a deal, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Obviously, signing DiNucci isn’t going to make national headlines, as he’s only played for the Dallas Cowboys on the NFL level for three games to fill in for Dak Prescott back in 2020.

The real question for the Broncos moving forward is whether Wilson can bounce back from a disastrous first season in Denver now that head coach Sean Payton is in the fold.

All eyes will be on Wilson and Payton as the coach-quarterback duo will be one of the major storylines throughout the 2023 NFL season.

In 2022, Wilson threw for a career-low 16 touchdowns to go along with 3,524 passing yards and 11 interceptions.

He also rushed for 277 yards and three touchdowns on 55 carries.
