Shaquille O’Neal is one of the biggest NBA legends in the history of the league.
Behind the big dunks and the legendary performances, O’Neal had a lot of inspiration in his playing days: shutting down the doubters.
Now, as an analyst, he’s trying to inspire players to do the same.
O’Neal makes it clear that today’s players need to step up their play if they want to shut down the outside noise and be known as ‘great.’
“You want to be known as great, you got to step up.”

Shaq adds that he was in their position before and faced the same amount of pressure.
He urges players to accept that criticism is part of the game and they need to learn how to deal with it.
Shaq was constantly criticized for his struggles at the free-throw line throughout his career.
He also faced criticism in his early days in Orlando for not winning a championship.
But he changed that narrative after leaving the Magic.
As a four-time NBA champion who shared touches with incredible legends like Kobe Bryant, Dwayne Wade, and LeBron James, he knows a thing or two about winning.
O’Neal is making it clear he’s not trying to attack anybody, just trying to bring the best out of them.
