After winning the Super Bowl with veteran quarterback Matthew Stafford under center, the Los Angeles Rams were thought to be a force to be reckoned with for many years, with Sean McVay agreeing to come back and coach a little while longer.
Unfortunately, last season was an absolute disaster for the Rams as they failed to live up to expectations and didn’t even make the playoffs, with many questions surrounding whether this team can get back to form as a legitimate Super Bowl title contender.
With the Rams recently trading star cornerback Jalen Ramsey to the Miami Dolphins and veteran wide receiver Allen Robinson to the Pittsburgh Steelers, there’s been a lot of talk of the team potentially rebuilding rather than trying to compete moving forward.
In a recent appearance on The Rich Eisen Show, Rams general manager Les Snead addressed the rumors that the team is rebuilding and made it clear that with Stafford leading the way, the team doesn’t intend to go that route.

Of course, a general manager in the NFL will never admit that a rebuilding process has begun, even when all the signs point to that being the case regarding offseason moves.
That seems to be the case here with Snead, as the team may be going with the approach that they may be able to succeed in 2023 and don’t want the narrative to be that they are rebuilding and get burnt by that notion.
However, the Rams are playing in a tough division in the NFC West and may find it difficult to compete with the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks, let alone the rest of the league.
It’ll be interesting to see what direction this team heads in moving forward and if the Rams still have what it takes to be a playoff team in the NFC.
