The MLB is a league full of star players on each team.
That was especially the case on Sunday Night Baseball featuring the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres.
Those are two of the best teams in the National League, and each is full of All-Stars.
One player that had a big impact on the game was Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts.
He hit a game-tying home run with two outs in the ninth inning.
ESPN analyst Eduardo Perez then proceeded to make an interesting statement.
Perez said, “Nando this is what superstars look like.”
That statement seemingly called out Fernando Tatis Jr.
But that was not the intent of Perez as he proceeded to apologize for the comment.

Perez “cringed” when he said it, and he said he is going to apologize to Tatis for the comment.
It was a huge moment in the game for Betts to hit the home run with two outs.
Perez said he just wanted to make the most of the moment and try to give Betts his deserved credit.
Tatis has been under plenty of scrutiny over the past few years.
It started with him getting injured in a motorcycle accident.
Then he got suspended for violating the MLB’s substance abuse policy.
But when Tatis is on the field he is undoubtedly one of the best players in the league.
He has the power and speed combo that makes him as dangerous as anyone in the game.
