Former NFL GM Reveals 2 Late-Round Picks To Watch Out For

Nfl draft board

The NFL Draft is a place where teams can find quality players in all seven rounds.

Every year there are a few star players that slip to the later rounds in the draft.

For example, the Seahawks found cornerback Tariq Woolen in the fifth round of last year’s draft.

He went on to make the Pro Bowl in his rookie season.

For some players, it is not about where you are picked but who picks you.

You can bet there are going to be a few late-round steals that come out of this draft as well.

Former NFL GM Scott Pioli has two names to watch for that he mentioned on Good Morning Football.

They are Texans center Jarrett Patterson and Browns center Luke Wypler.

Both Patterson and Wypler were selected in the sixth round.

Yet they could have been selected much higher with what they showed in college.

There were countless starting offensive linemen taken on day three of the draft.

The Cowboys found their starting center Tyler Biadasz in the fourth round of the 2020 draft.

Also, playing offensive line in the NFL is tough.

Rarely does a team’s starting O-line make it through an entire season.

All good teams know that depth on the line is crucial.

It will be interesting to see if Patterson or Wypler can carve out a role this year.

Both played at elite college programs, and that should help them in year one.
