The Los Angeles Clippers weren’t fully convinced of signing Russell Westbrook before Paul George spoke on his behalf.
He wasn’t the type of point guard they were looking for, and the early returns weren’t exactly encouraging.
But Westbrook has finally found his stride with Tyronn Lue’s team, and he was a major factor behind their Game 1 road win over the Phoenix Suns on Sunday night.
Despite going just 3-for-19 from the field, Westbrook made multiple winning plays, dominating the offensive glass in the fourth quarter and even locking up Devin Booker on defense when the game was on the line.
Nonetheless, none of that was enough to appease or even impress Skip Bayless.
Bayless has been ruthless to Westbrook for years.
That’s why he couldn’t overlook his solid performance and continued to take uncalled-for shots at Westbrook even after the win.
I picked the Clippers to win the West before the season. I abandoned ship when they signed Westbrick, clearly trying to show they can win w him after the Lakers failed to. I STAND BY WHAT I SAID: SUNS WILL WIN THIS SERIES BECAUSE THEY NOW HAVE KD & CLIPS ARE STUCK WITH RUSS.

Needless to say, the fans didn’t hesitate to mock and call Skip, ripping him for continuing to diss Russ even when he plays well.
Don’t use Kawhi Leonard as an excuse for Kevin Durant’s dissappearing act in the 4th quarter, where is KD when his team need him the most?

It’s ok not to like a guy as a player or even as a person, but there’s no need to try and take him down even when he’s doing the right thing.
Media members are entitled to their opinion, but that doesn’t give them the right to take shots at players just for the sake of it.
