Dan Snyder is in the process of selling the Washington Commanders, as he reached a nonexclusive preliminary agreement to hand over the team to entrepreneur Josh Harris.

Snyder is considered by many to be a bad NFL team owner, as he has faced many controversies during his 24 years at the helm of the Commanders, and many of them have been of his own doing.

Once he lets go of the franchise, however, he will become an extremely rich man, as, according to Adam Schefter, he will receive over $6 billion from the sale of the Commanders.

Snyder originally bought the then-Redskins for $800 million in 1999 shortly after the death of Jack Kent Cooke, their previous owner.

Under Cooke, the franchise was one of the most respected in all of pro sports, as they won three Super Bowls in the 1980s and early 1990s.

But since Snyder has been at the controls, they have struggled to make the playoffs with any type of regularity, and they have won only two postseason games during that time.

He has come under fire as a result of multiple allegations of bullying and intimidation within the team’s workplace, which includes many sexual harassment allegations.

Last season, the Commanders went 8-8-1 and came very close to making the playoffs, and moving forward, they may have a hole at quarterback, but they have Pro Bowlers on both sides of the football.

A new regime from the top down could be what is needed to get them back to respectability on a consistent basis.
