One of the most exciting positions in the NFL is at wide receiver, with plenty of stars and rising stars at wideout turning a lot of heads over the past few years.
Currently, there are a few top-tier players at the wide receiver position, with Justin Jefferson, Davante Adams and Tyreek Hill leading the way.
Although there are only a few superstar-caliber wideouts in the league today, there are some players at wide receiver that have made an impression with their lightning-quick speed.
On The Herd with Colin Cowherd, Seattle Seahawks star D.K. Metcalf made a bold statement, which is bound to make his peers a little more than irritated, as he believes he’s the fastest player in the NFL.
.@ColinCowherd: Are you the fastest player in the league?

Metcalf’s sheer size is unusual at the wide receiver position, with arguably only former Detroit Lions star Calvin Johnson being comparable to the Seahawks star.
However, when it comes to the speed department in the NFL, Hill is usually considered the fastest player, which seems to be the consensus among players and the media.
Tyreek Hill @cheetah once ran 23.24 MPH so this might bring some light on how much faster he is then anyone else! 😳 https://t.co/NVYVB28HLG

It’ll be interesting to see if Hill, any other star wide receivers or running backs in the league respond to Metcalf’s comments about being the fastest player in the NFL.
Obviously, Metcalf is not shy about making bold statements, but this one may come back to haunt him as it will be bulletin board material for opposing teams and players.
Sometimes it is better to let others and or the numbers do the talking for you.
