The Seattle Kraken have reassigned forward Shane Wright from the OHL’s Windsor Spitfires to the AHL’s Coachella Valley Thunderbirds, the team announced Monday.

Wright’s Spitfires entered the OHL playoffs as the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference but were swept in an upset by the No. 8 seed Kitchener Rangers.
This will be Wright’s second trip to the Firebirds after scoring four goals in five games on a conditioning stint earlier this season. That came after the Kraken kept the forward as a healthy scratch for an extended period in the fall after recording just one assist in seven games. He briefly returned to the Kraken, and scored a goal against the Montreal Canadiens, before heading to Canada’s World Junior Championship training camp in December.
Wright joined the Spitfires in January after a trade with Kingston and scored 15 goals and 37 points in 20 OHL games before adding a goal and three points in four playoff games.
Coachella Valley (47-15-5-2) sits in second place in the AHL’s Pacific Division standings with three games remaining.
