Thompson has been known for being a controversial player, especially for his off-court behavior.
Thompson can be a good rebounder that can help the Lakers on the defensive end, but he needs to prove his value now.
The playoffs are incredibly difficult and now the real challenge starts.
He last played for the Chicago Bulls last season, and the responsibility has gotten bigger now.
The Lakers want to make a statement in the postseason and they hope Thompson can help them do so.
With LeBron James and Anthony Davis on the court, they will have a chance against anybody in the league.
