Veteran linebacker Bobby Wagner is going back to the team he has been most associated with throughout his 11-year career.

The free agent is reportedly returning to the Seattle Seahawks on a one-year contract.

Seahawks fans seem pretty happy with the move.

This fan joked that Wagner had an ulterior motive when he left Seattle last year to join the defending Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams.

This Las Vegas Raiders fans wanted Wagner on their team but felt it was more appropriate for the linebacker to return to the Pacific Northwest.

Even at age 32, Wagner is still very capable of giving the Seahawks’ front seven a boost.

He had 140 total tackles (81 solo), 10 tackles for loss, 10 quarterback hits and five passes defended for the Rams in 2022, although he didn’t get voted into the Pro Bowl for the first time since 2013, his second season in the NFL.

He was a fixture for Seattle from 2012 to 2021 during a time when the time was a perennial contender largely because of a savage defense that regularly suffocated opponents.

The team won it all in 2013 and came perhaps within a Malcolm Butler interception of repeating as world champs the following season.

Last year, the Seahawks were a feel-good story, as career backup QB Geno Smith did an admirable job of replacing the outgoing Russell Wilson and led everyone in completion percentage while making the Pro Bowl.

They made the playoffs with a 9-8 record, yet they finished just 25th in points allowed and 26th in total yards allowed, and Wagner could be part of the answer to those defensive woes.
