The National League West is going to be an interesting division to watch in 2023.
For almost a decade, the division has been dominated by the Los Angeles Dodgers.
And while the Dodgers have made some important moves this winter, the San Diego Padres were quite busy as well and now look to be in a position to at least challenge the Dodgers for the top spot.
The San Francisco Giants also cannot be overlooked.
On MLB Network, several analysts joined Alanna Rizzo to preview the NL West race and discuss who truly has the edge as the 2023 season draws nearer.
Better yet, it was an all-female group of reporters in the midst of Women’s History Month.

Kirsten Watson spoke first and discussed the Dodgers.
Watson talked about the Dodgers’ goals and that while they won 111 games last season and set a franchise record, it wasn’t necessarily their goal.
Watson says the Dodgers only care about winning the NL West and following it up with a World Series title.
Annie Heilbrunn then discussed what the Padres are doing and how the team has set big goals for themselves, stating that they no longer want to be considered the “little brother” in the division.
The Padres now have one of the highest payrolls in baseball after spending on Xander Bogaerts, Matt Carpenter, Michael Wacha, Nelson Cruz, and Seth Lugo.
Heilbrunn talked about the Padres lineup and how it could ultimately be their ultimate strength.
Susan Slusser then chimed in to discuss the Giants and what they need to do to get back to where they were in 2021.
Slusser pointed out some of the key additions for the Giants such as Michael Conforto and Mitch Haniger and talked about how if they perform up to par, the team could improve in 2023.
