The Dallas Cowboys have been relatively quiet during the offseason, especially in comparison to other teams across the league.
Their biggest move to date was franchise-tagging Tony Pollard, securing his roster spot for another season.
However, the Cowboys recently made a move to re-sign one of their most impactful safeties from their 2022 roster.
According to Mike Garafolo, the Cowboys signed Donovan Wilson to a three-year, $24 million deal.
The #Cowboys have agreed to terms to re-sign S Donovan Wilson to a three-year deal worth up to $24 million with the first two years fully guaranteed ($13.5 million), sources say. The deal was confirmed by Wilson’s agents Kevin Conner and Robert Brown of @UniSportsMgmt. pic.twitter.com/8EhQa17b5m

Wilson was a sixth-round pick during the 2019 draft and has been an impactful player for the Cowboys ever since.
Last year was the best of his career, as he racked up 101 total tackles, five sacks, two forced fumbles, and one interception.
Now, the Cowboys have locked down one of their own, a player that they are familiar with.
This is great news for the Cowboys’ defense as a whole, which was one of the league’s best defenses in 2022.
Last season, the Cowboys allowed just 19.8 points per game, which was the sixth-best mark in the league.
The defense has been largely centered around Micah Parsons, who will be entering his third season in 2023.
What other pieces will the Cowboys add in the coming weeks?
Currently, the Cowboys still have $19 million in available salary cap space.
While some of this will be used to sign their 2023 draft picks, the Cowboys still have more moves to make.
Last season, Dallas lost to the San Francisco 49ers in the Divisional round of the playoffs.
With the NFC being the weaker of the two conferences, they should be able to reach the playoffs again in 2023, this time, hopefully making a deeper run.
