The NFL offseason has gotten off to a fast start.
The Jalen Ramsey sweepstakes have officially come and gone as the Miami Dolphins landed the star cornerback.
It became obvious earlier in the offseason that the Rams were looking to move Ramsey.
But, it was always going to be a surprise as to what team would end up with him.
Even though the Dolphins landed the former All-Pro, they were not the only ones interested.
According to Jordan Schultz, the Detroit Lions were also in the running for the cornerback.
Sources: #Lions were among the other teams interested in #Rams All-Pro CB Jalen Ramsey as well, but the #Dolphins were the best fit and destination for Ramsey all along. @theScore

Detroit had a surprisingly good season last year and now they have playoff expectations in 2023.
Head coach Dan Campbell has done a great job in Detroit and they could use a few more impact players on defense.
Their offense was one of the best in the NFL this past season.
Quarterback Jared Goff has seemingly found a home in Detroit.
Also, they have plenty of good pass catchers like Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jameson Williams, and D.J. Chark.
If they can find a few good defensive players in the draft or free agency, the Lions could be a threat in the NFC.
As for Ramsey and the Dolphins, their defense just got substantially better.
They must find a way to slow down the elite passing games of the Chiefs, Bengals, and Bills.
Adding Ramsey should help them do that.
Keep an eye on both the Lions and Dolphins throughout the rest of the offseason.
It is safe to think they will be looking to make some big moves.
