The New Orleans Saints will have a new quarterback for the 2023 season.
There was no question they came into the offseason looking for a franchise signal-caller.
It appears they have found their guy in former Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr.
Carr comes to New Orleans on a massive four-year, $150 million contract.
They have committed to him being their quarterback and he will have to make it work.
One player Carr looks forward to throwing to is wide receiver Michael Thomas.
According to Ross Jackson, Carr has already spoken to Thomas and they are ready to “take on the world.”
#Saints QB Derek Carr says that Michael Thomas didn’t do much recruiting when they spoke on the phone. Instead he told him “When do we get to work? We’re wasting time. Time’s ticking.”
Said that after he spoke with Thomas, he felt the two of them could “take on the world.”

Earlier in the offseason, there was a thought that the Saints would move on from Thomas.
But, the Saints have engaged in contract extension talks with Thomas, and he is now expected to remain in New Orleans for at least next season.
Thomas has been ravaged by injuries over the past three seasons.
He has played in only 10 games the last three years, including missing the entire season in 2021.
But, Thomas showed back in 2018 and 2019 that he can be one of the best wide receivers in the NFL.
He led the NFL in receptions in both of those seasons and had 274 in total.
With the current look of the NFC South, the Saints have the best quarterback in the division with Carr.
As of now, the Saints should be heavy favorites to win the South, and missing the playoffs would be a major disappointment.
Keep an eye on how Carr and Thomas flourish with each other next year.
