The Boston Celtics have hit a bit of a rough patch at the worst time.
They’re still one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference and the league as a whole, but they’re no longer the first seed, and other teams are playing much better basketball than them right now.
Moreover, they just dropped back-to-back overtime games in heartbreaking fashion, falling short and looking completely gassed when the game was on the line.
On Tuesday night, they led the Cleveland Cavaliers by double digits for most of the game, even without Jayson Tatum.
Still, they failed to close the game out, and couldn’t even hit a single free throw to win it as the clock expired.
That’s why Celtics star Jaylen Brown doesn’t want to hear anything about moral victories.
“There’s no moral victories in this s***. We got to win games. Period.”

The only thing that matters is winning basketball games, especially with the Milwaukee Bucks playing their best basketball and running away with the first seed in the East.
Home-court advantage could play a major role in a hypothetical Eastern Conference Finals between these two teams, so the race for the No. 1 seed could go down to the wire.
But it seems like the Celtics — despite all their depth — could use a little break right now, as they seem exhausted on the court, and that has cost them down the line.
They sure have what it takes to overcome this rough patch and straighten the ship again, so let’s hope they can bounce back from these two tough losses in no time.
