Adam Wainwright is best known for his pitching.

His signature curveball and cut-fastball have helped him throughout his career.

The right-hander is entering his 18th and final season in Major League Baseball.

But once his playing days are over, he isn’t going to be sitting and twiddling his thumbs in boredom.

In fact, he may have another career lined up.

This past offseason, the veteran right-hander went down to Muscle Shoals, Alabama to record some music.

As it turns out, the two-time World Series champion is an aspiring country music artist.

The next edition of the St. Louis Cardinals magazine will dive into this new side of Wainwright.

Wainwright is a man of many talents.

He’s best known for his pitching, but when he’s not on the mound, he certainly knows how to keep himself busy.

Playing some country music is one way to do that.

The three-time All-Star grew up in Georgia and has long been a fan of country music.

He recently performed at a concert, where he showed off his musical abilities.

Needless to say, once Wainwright retires, he isn’t going anywhere.

He’ll still be around and he’ll be fine-tuning his musical skills as he looks to launch a second career.

During a showcase of ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball, a recording of one of Wainwright’s songs titled “That All Sounds Real Good To Me” was played.

And as it turns out, Wainwright is quite a talented musician.

Cardinals fans will certainly be interested to see where this new hobby takes the veteran pitcher after he retires.
